The clock is running - books for sale!

Hello friends, artists, fellow-travellers and various and sundry curious investigators - we are delighted today, to announce the inaugural book-release from Large Ess Small Press. - Yes, the mission-clock is at last, running!  The official release-copy follows. Is an exciting new collection of modern poetry with unusual but welcome intentions.

Rather than writing these pieces with an academic audience in mind, Snyders has instead taken strong ideas from the street, compassionate understandings from psychology and philosophy, history, science, and even the fraught state of global politics, and given them all plain-language poetic form.

He surprises, by making his insights just as much functional as lovely, so that while some may appreciate the meter, scholarship and phrasing, others will find that key pieces quickly become useful to them, without any further explanation or study.

While the thematic content derives from a wide range of humane research, and the structure and approach of the poems vary greatly, to suit each particular concept, all owe a great debt to rich traditional sources, including contemporary western poetry, the British romantics, the artistic revolutionaries of the 1920s and 30s, and the great Sufi mystics.

Born into a lost civilization (sixties commune) the author has created music and visual art, been a model for other artists, worked in education, and spent years applying hard science to the repair of vintage analog tech, all the while gathering clues to happiness, forgiveness and mutual understanding.

Above all, as Snyders reminds us in the opening line of the book "This is supposed to be fun, people!" and indeed, extending our compassion, knowledge of the world, and our toolkit for further growth can all contribute hugely to our joy and satisfaction.

Even when we're fearful about the state of the world, as many are nowadays, nothing can add positivity faster than a hopeful new perspective on problems so persistent, they may have come to feel inescapable.

A new way in, a light at the end of the tunnel, a consoling hug, a sweet clever friend on the bedside table.
