Would you like to speak to my world issues class on this topic? They need to hear what you have to say, badly.

AI is used to produce too many assignments which means I have to improve my high school teaching technique. Always growing, always moving forward.

Hi Paul

Thank you so much for that suggestion! Outright exciting (and an honour that my thinking seems so useful to you, on such a tricky and often obfuscated subject).

Unfortunately, I'm a full time caregiver for my ill wife right now, and something of a luddite also (not much luck with zoom thus far, creaky old hardware).

Frustrating though, because I love that sort of curious specialist witness role (and assisting earnest educators, also). Never fail to learn something, from such teaching.

Thank you for the compliment and encouragement all the same - and I have a feeling my subconcious has now officially loaded the problem of discussing these matters with high schoolers into the back of my head, so with luck, I will at least have a piece you can share with them directly, when the bat-computer spits it out!

(I did special Ed library and computer for grade sevens and eights for a few years in the nineties, and still have many great friends among my former students, and very fond memories of the work).

In the meantime, I found this fellow's take on AI and education very interesting, and potentially helpful in the long term arc at least (one of several education blogs I read - because physics politics and economics just aren't confusing enough! ;o)

Of course. Please give her my best wishes, I fondly remember her wit and sense of humour from our high school days.

I am always cut to hear about different points of view regarding AI and teaching. There is so much positive potential but I feel like educators are always playing catch up with the tech when we need to be harnessing it. Thanks for the inspirational words.
